What is a word frequency counter?
A word frequency counter counts how many times each word appears in a text and ranks them from most to least used. Writers use it to spot overused words, SEO writers use it to check keyword balance, and researchers use it for quick text analysis — all live, as you type.
How to use the word frequency counter
- Step 1: Paste your text into the box.
- Step 2: Set a minimum word length — 3 or 4 hides most filler words like 'the', 'and' and 'of'.

What the numbers tell you
If one content word fills more than about 3–4% of a short article, you are probably repeating yourself — swap in synonyms or restructure. For SEO, a target keyword around 1% is natural; forcing it higher reads as stuffing. The unique-word count is a rough vocabulary-richness signal: higher usually means more varied writing.
